Below is a selection of short films I have worked on, please select the
links below to view each film. (Please be patient whilst the clip loads)

JIVE

Shot on film by Gary Barber on Marine Parade (Brighton seafront), during some kind of biker run/speed trial event. It’s Jack Kerouac speaking. Part of the Three of a Kind group of films. Shown at various cinemas and festivals including Junk TV nights, at the Abbevile French Film Festival and the Curzon Cinema, Soho.

ONE DAY I MET A SPACE MAN

Film editing and music by myself, using Super 8 footage my dad shot over 30 years ago, when we visited Cape Canaveral Space Center. I’ve been working at turning my Dad’s footage into a number of shorts, as he filmed all our holidays in America in the 70’s. I now have a bit of a thing for space flight - have you seen the amazing NASA video archives?

AXIOM

Sound for an animation that demos a game invented by Michael Seal (a work in progress). For more information about the game, go to the Axiom website. I saw the Michael the other day and he presented me with an excellent looking finished version of the game - it’s now available from his website - click on the above link.

WALTZ

Beautiful shots of dancers with the camera weaving around them. An emotive film shot by Gary Barber on grainy 16mm film. Gary took the piano music from a score I wrote for a commission for South East Arts. We were commissioned to create a music and film piece celebrating 500 years of St Mary De Haura church in Shoreham. The commission was meant to be heartfelt and tasteful, so I concentrated on that theme, whilst Gary got Bob his mate in to do funny walks over the graves. Click here to see what I mean. The only music left from the project is on Waltz, and also this beautifully shot piece. The commission all worked out fine on the night though, when I performed the music live with full choir inside the beautiful church in front of the film and all was forgiven. Waltz is now the first film in the Three of a Kind installation/film series.

SEVERAL BILLION YEARS

Excerpt from a video installation depicting the birth and death of a star. An art gallery installation by Russell Webb, Maze Artist. I’m sort of part of the Maze artists group, based at the Phoenix Arts Center in Brighton. Exhibited in Brighton and London galleries. The crackling and explosive noise is actually the real sound that the universe makes when picked up through radio microphones.

END OF THE DAY

A sound and piano score for a really outstanding and beautiful time lapse film by Tim Ebbs, featuring skies, sunsets and the sea, that took over a year and a half to shoot. Shown at events in Brighton, London and Japan.

SAND

Music for short film by Kate Aidley. Part of Digital Shorts. Commissioned by the Film Council and Lighthouse. Shown at various film festivals including Abbeville, France.
